Scott Bryan in his article “Being dyslexic can actually be bloody brilliant” jokingly says that podcasting would be a better option for those with dyslexia than the conventional way of applying for jobs.

Of course the context being those with dyslexia have problems with names, dates and application forms which require writing. It is not hard to imagine what with job interviews these days done over Skype and other video applications.

Like Albert Einstein

Bryan, who believes he is in the same league with the likes of Albert Einstein, writes of how he was diagnosed with the disorder well past the typical adolescent stage of discovery and the major effect was that he cannot transcribe words in his head on paper.

He then goes on to list the pros of having dyslexia. First, he is forced to write in the first person. Second, people with dyslexia receive government support in the form of free computer software that helps manage language disturbances. Third, as language structure may be traumatizing to those with dyslexia, they are free from the demands of accurately constructing formal works.

So if you take the strengths of those with dyslexia and use podcasting, which is an ideal medium, wouldn’t that be a step towards providing jobs for them? Because we surely know they have excellent analytical skills and brilliant minds.
