Contrary to most people’s opinions, summertime is not a time for kids to stay healthy. Although you would think kids are more active, they are not. This can be due to a variety of factors, resulting in kids being extremely sedentary, which in turn hampers their fitness.

Willits Branch Library is taking part in an early reading initiative that aims to have parents read 1,000 books to their children before kindergarten. Most children and teens are being tricked by false articles posted on line. This is causing severe problems that all concerned parents should know about because of the fraudulent articles, kids are losing faith in the media and in their ability to determine what real news is and what fake news is.

Many girls in the country are being steered away from math and science ventures but not this group of young girls. These girls are just in middle school and are already trying to be more active as well as getting other girls more active in STEM programs and activities. Recently, Elena Weitz and some of her classmates were able to tour a Stem Cell Lab.

The reason why we feel anxious is due to our innate genes. According to researchers from King’s College London, our spatial and mathematical skills are genetic. Researchers have realized that anxiety have several different forms from general, mathematics, and spatial anxiety. Through the research, they discovered that anxiety showed a substantial genetic component.
