Are you a bit annoyed when people use words or phrases incorrectly? Did we all learn this stuff back in grade school? Apparently not! The misused phrases we commonly hear “should of” instead of saying I “should have”…, or the words toward, anyway and afterward should never have “s’ at the end. For me, there’s something a little bit fun in using slang, but I usually know when I’m doing it, that it is incorrect on purpose. Have you ever heard someone say doggy dog world, instead of dog eat dog world? It might be fun to say, but it certainly ruins the point. We can get mad at the grammar Nazis out there, but if we take ourselves somewhat seriously, and we want to be respected and understood correctly, then we should check out and consider correcting our mistakes and sounding just a little more intelligent.
