Two veteran central Wisconsin professors were recently honored for their ability to make math more clear and reachable for students who struggle with the subject. Kavita Bhatia and Paul Martin were given the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence from the University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin-Extension. They create a math course for college-bound students looking to polish their math skills before beginning university life. They created their own class, including its textbook.

Bhatia created a math course designed specifically for students who won’t be pursuing majors in STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — fields.
