Aphasia is an acquired communication disorder that impairs a person’s ability to process language. Aphasia can result from: stroke, brain tumors, infection, dementia and head injury. There are several forms of the disorder including Expressive (Broca’s), Receptive (Wernicke’s), Anomic, Global and Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA).
