There are many benefits to becoming a lifetime learner however many people fail to take advantage of them once their formal education has ended. Over 40% of college graduates never read another book once they graduate. Several barriers prevent people from participating in lifelong learning however most of these are potentially manageable. It is not necessary to continue in formal education as cost could be a factor in doing so. There are several strategies for life-long learning and include setting goals for yourself, finding a group that will support your endeavors into learning and to ask questions about things, which will encourage you to explore them further. Practicing what you learn and teaching what you learn to others are mechanisms that will enable you to retain and continue learning new information.
