13 Reasons Why Your Brain Craves (Infographics)

Infographics are an excellent way to introduce, educate, and inform on a particular topic of interest; more so than just reading the text alone. There has been a huge increase in visualized information over the last 20 years. This is due to the advent of the internet, but it is also increasing in print media over the same time. This is due to how our brains interpret data. The amount of time necessary to see a logo or icon and discern its meaning is significantly shorter than how long it would take to digest a block of text. We are overloaded with information in today's world. We receive five times the amount of information as we did in 1986. By creating colorful, engaging visuals, we can express the same information in an easier to digest format. The images and designs are more accessible and can create understanding in a much faster manner, but are also more convincing as well. It has also been shown to be easier to recall at a later time.
