There are four trends which are on the rise in eLearning. These trends are “big data,” “mobile learning,” “personalization” and “edutainment.” The infographic summarizes each trend and explains how each will be utilized. Big data means that eLearning professionals will be able to analyze each class as a whole and individually; this will enable them to improve specific areas. Mobile learning will allow increased flexibility for students, but require educators to shorten their materials. Personalization is a must; expect no two courses to be the same. Active learning will be realized via edutainment, to increase student retention rates. In summary, eLearning will be student-focused, flexible, customizable, and highly interactive. Although there may be other trends, these four are considered the most important ones in our immediate future.
