Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, more commonly known as ADHD, is a disorder in people worldwide that affects their attention spans and ability to focus. People are often diagnosed at a young age, and while medicines have been developed to control the symptoms, actually overcoming the disorder can be extremely difficult to accomplish. There are a number of things that are not commonly known about the ADHD disorder. For example, ADHD can be divided into five sub-types, including over focused ADHD, inattentive ADHD, or temporal lobe ADHD, each targeted at the specific set of symptoms one incurs. There are also a number of lesser known risk factors that can make a person susceptible to ADHD, such as certain prescription medications or an early developed smoking habit. Through hard work and determination, it is not unheard of for one to overcome ADHD and its symptoms.
