EBD stands for Emotional and Behavior Disorders. EBD’s, which vary in severity, is a general term for any disorder that affects a child’s emotions or behavior. Not all children who experience this will meet the diagnostic criteria, but this does not mean they do not need help. EBDs were the fourth largest disability under The Individual with Disabilities Act. To qualify for assistance at a school, a student must meet one of five characteristics detailed in the attached infographic. Peer interaction and educating teachers about EBDs greatly benefits those suffering from the disorder.
