How Flipped Classroom Changes From Schools to Colleges (Infograph)

The “flipped classroom” method of teaching is becoming quite popular, and is spreading throughout schools across the country. Many students and parents, however, don't understand what the flipped classroom actually is. It describes a reversal of traditional teaching, where students gain first-hand exposure to new material outside of class instead of their teacher explaining these concepts. Teachers will then go over the material learned independently the next class period to reinforce the concepts the students learned. It is implemented with some variation in some aspects, especially from high school to college. There are some key differences that dramatically alter the effectiveness and freedom students have between high school and the collegiate level. This aims to discuss those differences and how to maximize learning for both high school and college level flipped classrooms.
