This infographic allows for a better understanding of learning disabilities in the United States. Firstly, the graph shows how most people misunderstand what a learning disability is, and reveals what common learning disabilities exist. Then the graph shows how these disabilities affect the person throughout their life. This infographic includes a useful mental map and other graphs that help make the information more understandable. The mental map shows which part of the brain houses each disability. It appears that most mental disabilities stem from the parietal lobe or the angular gyrus, which both help with reading and comprehension. The lower map shows how these disabilities affect adult life, through a clear gap in education and income in adults with vs. adults without learning disabilities. This really proves how important it is to help children learn new coping skills at a young age.
