Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (Infograph)

OCD is defined as a person having recurrent and intrusive/disturbing thoughts that cause anxiety and distress. This affects 1 in 100 children and it is estimated that more than 5 million Americans may suffer from this. While the cause for this is unknown, it may be related to neurological, environmental, psychological and genetic factors. Symptoms can start in childhood/young adulthood and will comprise of either obsessive or compulsive behaviors. The treatment for OCD is medication or therapy.
