The 12 Punctuation Pals can be your best friends in your writing. The 12 Punctuation Pals consist of the following: 1. Period (.) This is a full stop that ends a sentence. 2. Question Mark (?) This Pal is used to asking a question. 3. Exclamation Mark (!) This shows alarm. 4. Comma (,) This type of Punctuation separates items in a list or shows a break in a sentence. 5. Speech Marks (“ “) Show what is being said. 6. Apostrophe (‘) Shows possession or is used in place of letters. 7. Brackets ( { }) Contain unnecessary but interesting information 8. Colon (:) Introduces a list 9. Semicolon (;) Joins to main clauses together 10. Single Dash (-) Separates independent clauses 11. Hyphen (-) Creates compound adjectives 12.
