Social and Emotional Skills: What to Expect at Different Ages (Infograph)

Typical social behavior can be divided into 4 groups of ages. These groups are infants and babies, toddlers and pre-school students, grade school and finally middle-school and high-school students. There are specific behaviors you should expect from each group. For example, by the time an individual reaches the middle-school and high-school students group, they can need to show a need for privacy and value others opinions more. This is something a baby would not do. Individuals in the baby and infant category do however respond to other people's emotions by grinning, laughing and crying. As you can see you must reach a certain age before you can fully develop socially.
