Scaffolding in education is a template for deeper learning. This method of teaching builds upon previous information to form new understandings. It involves figuring out what the student already knows and building upon that. There are various methods to use when trying to figure out what the student knows. Once that base layer is formed the instructor offers various challenges to the student to broaden their knowledge.
