Understanding Aphasia (Infograph)

Aphasia is an acquired communication disorder that impairs a person’s ability to process language. Aphasia can result from: stroke, brain tumors, infection, dementia and head injury. There are several forms of the disorder including Expressive (Broca’s), Receptive (Wernicke’s), Anomic, Global and Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). Diagnosis and treatment are available and new technologies have been developed for treating the disorder.
