Small children often have trouble reading aloud to their peers or to adults, but when they read to a well trained and attentive dog they feel much more comfortable. When they read to a dog, they aren't judged by it or corrected for simple mistakes like taking too long to sound out a word or losing track of what page they are on. In reading to canines the safety and lack of risk, makes reading a fun and relaxing thing to do, with no social anxiety involved at all.
