Driving With ADD – Driving Safety With ADD

Parents, as your children are approaching 16 yrs. old, you will be faced with the fact that your child will soon will be of legal driving age. While that is concerning for most parents, in and of itself, when you incorporate the fact that your child is also diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, further concerns will present itself. While the majority of the concerns are very similar, as with those teens that are diagnosed or not diagnosed, such as having a “No Fear” type of attitude, easily distracted, friends in the car, music, etc… There are further concerns for a parent of a teen with an ADD/ADHD diagnosis. Ensure that your teen is properly taking their medication as prescribed to assist with their impulsive and distractible behaviors that may put them or another driver at risk.
