Finally getting serious about educating kids with dyslexia #dyscalculia

Have you ever given thought to students that have dyslexia? What difference in education do they have? Chances are that if you have a child that has dyslexia then you are well versed, but that is not the case for everyone. However, the education system is finally getting serious about educating kids with dyslexia.

But thousands of more children with dyslexia — and one in five children have it — will go undiagnosed. Even for those with diagnoses, it will go unremarked upon, in large part because school officials have been afraid to use the word “dyslexia.”

Lawmakers are drawing attention to learning struggles.

A new law is being signed into law that would help protect the world of those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and can be used to determine eligibility for special education services including the development of individuating education plans. It is also hopeful that the diagnosing of these educational challenges are better preparing teachers to assist with these challenges.
