Kids Falling Behind

Many kids were not in school this Fall. It has been hard to understand exactly what is going on for all the people in charge of all the missing people. Kids seem to be doing worse on tests and do not have the understanding that they did before. There are many challenges before teachers during this pandemic and there is a lot of hope that everything will work out okay. Schools have been dealing with a lot.

But researchers at NWEA, whose MAP Growth assessments are meant to measure student proficiency, caution they may be underestimating the effects on minority and economically disadvantaged groups.
