The need for Mathematics has become so complacent in our school's criteria that students are being shorted on a powerful tool. The tool of math is so necessary for a person to succeed in life, that to not learn it from youth on thru high school is wrong. How would a scientist know he or she has the right formula for the project if the problem could not be weighed and performed correctly. Our short-sightedness when coming to the lack of need for a crucial subject concerning math is wrong. We need math so we can perform even everyday projects. Without math, a student becomes numb to working on any project involving even English. Math is needed not a waste of time.
