Math As A Savior

The St. Jude Mathathon was utilized at the school covered in the article. It combines service learning and math so that the students can not only improve but use their math skills for a greater cause. Despite the school being located in a poverty-stricken area, the school's partnership with St. Jude's math-a-thon raised a total of $10000 to donate to St. Jude. This money would go towards medical supplies such as oxygen or payment for treatments like chemotherapy.
