Non Proficiency Rewards

There is a new plan that will be put into place after 2023 and those students will have to deal with it. The plan is to make school easier and less restrictive on who passes. Students will only need to know the most basic things about math and English to get by. They will not need an understanding of advanced algebra in order to pass. This initiative is taking place in the state of Ohio and is meant so students can do basic jobs in life.

Rewarding Inefficiency

High school students won’t have to be “proficient” in either math or English to graduate, under the minimum required test scores proposed by State Superintendent Paolo DeMaria.

Key Takeaways:

1
Knowing enough just to do basic jobs is what will be required of high school students.
2
Students will need to be at least competent in basic algebra and English.
3
The class of 2023 will be the first one to have this.
