Parents try out New Fairfield’s new math program #dyscalculia

Praises from parents and educators alike are being heard of a popular math curriculum named Big Ideas. After much deliberation, a committee of parents and teachers from the town of New Fairfield compared the likes of five separate programs before recommending Big Ideas to the school board in February. Two months after the program was approved, the district started training some of its educators in the new curriculum and initiated its use in the middle school.

The Marches were among more than 80 people attending an informational session to hear more about the new math program, Big Ideas, which replaces a previous program that many parents had criticized as ineffective.
