Utah school administrators are seeing a systemic drop in math scores at the sixth grade level. In general six graders SAGE scores fell more than 5% from their fifth grade scores. All signs point to an increase in test standards, in conjunction with the fact that for many in Utah, sixth grade is still taught in elementary schools, opposed to being the first year of middle school.
