Dyslexia is a common specific learning disorder that was once discounted as a middle-class myth. Fortunately, a push for social awareness has helped remove the negative stigma once associated with it. The public service announcement by Decoding Dyslexia is a useful tool in helping educate the public and continuing to provide advancements for these children.
The public service announcement first humanizes children with dyslexia by explaining they are all loved children that have the same life experiences as other children. They are unique in that they struggle with reading and writing more so than other children. Parents need more help for public schools, more tools for educators and more support for families to help these children succeed.
