Dyslexia label ‘could put teachers off’ #dyslexia

In a recent poll of teachers across the North East, it was determined that when a child was labeled as Dyslexic, the hope that a teacher would be able to positively affect that child’s ability to read decreased markedly. Comparatively, when the term “reading difficulties” was applied instead of “dyslexia” there was greater hope on the part of the teacher.
