This article is about helping those with dyslexia and implementing programs to give them an equal chance to succeed in school, at work and in life. Dyslexia Action and other trust organizations are encouraging people to write to their MPs to implement strategies that will even the playing field for those with dyslexia.
The Dyslexia Action plan wants MPs to pass an eight point action plan that includes making the educational system more accessible, creating a skilled and knowledgeable education workforce, and support job seekers into work. Dyslexia Action believes this plan will create a fairer system for those with dyslexia.
Dyslexia Action chief executive Kevin Geeson says: “Unless a ‘hidden disability’ such as dyslexia is identified, and as early as possible, it can hinder a child’s learning and have negative, long-term social consequences, not only for the young person but also for society.”
