A large teacher union is demanding that Biden goes against charter school expansion and also to end school choice for the low-income students of Washington DC. One of the issues public schools have is with charter schools because they believed it hurts them. The public schools want the charter schools to be held accountable just like they are. They want to make sure that the charter schools cannot expand so much as to hurt the public ones.

Putting Restrictions On Charter Schools

Since the NEA says upfront that they believe charter schools divert resources from traditional public schools, their first suggestion means they are in opposition to all charter school expansion
