Karuk Language Advocate Encourages Son to Use Their Language by Creating Memes Together

Preservation of culture is both such a beautiful and monumental thing to do. Especially in a day and age like today; fast paced, hard saves, and living in a constant New York minute. Trying to find a means in which to preserve, and educate subject matter in reference to cultural can prove to be a challenge. Here is one method being used by a native Karuk speaker which by many may be consider a little strange.
Memes have an amazing ability of capturing attention, spreading information quickly, and appearing multitudinous in a short period of time. This means in which to capture a glimpse of culture in a digestible, understandable bit can be powerful. If mixed with the proper content, a meme can give quite the lasting impression. Couple this thought with pairing it with cultural exploits, the two becomes an incredible way of display culture while creating something that last.
