On Innovating & Creating: Leaning Into Stupid Ideas

It is more common than one would think for an idea to be considered “stupid” and “worthless” and then later, when the idea is reexamined, it is discovered that the idea was excellent after all. Some quick examples of ideas that were rejected early on and then widely accepted later are the telephone and the automobile. This article discusses a book that compiled interviews of hundreds of individuals who “leaned into” stupid ideas instead of immediately rejecting them. Perhaps stupid really is the new smart!
