Language-Based Learning Disabilities and Auditory Processing Disorders

The article is about how children’s can suffer difficulties and disabilities learning their language spoken in their mother’s tongue. They need to be taught speech sounds because they have trouble parsing, which is the ability to sound words out. Brain Scientists have been studying different parts of the brain and how they work together. Also how important it is to parsing words into sound. They have conducted a study where twenty one elementary school children were diagnosed with this language impairment and began an intervention for them to help improve the gamma bands to study the brain wave patterns to help improve language problem in children with this disability. The authors have concluded that the measures of brain wave is not only auditory for processing language for this learning disabilities, but the Fast ForWord language program has improved one measure of brain wave efficiency and helped improve accuracy in their language skills.
