Sarah Pounder, mom of 3, has written a book entitled Jimmy, Me and Autism. Jimmy is her 11-year-old son who was diagnosed with severe autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), sensory processing disorder (SPD) and learning disabilities. Sarah speaks of a struggle wrapped into strength. She mentions how other parents and individuals who don’t know of Jimmy’s disabilities judge the family when they are out in public. She says she wants other parents and families with autistic children to know they are not alone and that getting GOOD help, although difficult, is not impossible.
