Stamford organization aims to improve parent, child connection #spd

In Stanford, an office of Connect-to-talk is helping kids with developmental delays catch up with their peers. The goals of Connect-to-talk are to teach important skills to kids through play. Connect-to-talk utilizes a structured environment to help kids learn. However, the structure is camouflaged by providing choices that the therapists want the kids to make.

Connect-to-talk began as a speech pathology practice, but has grown to include behavioral and occupational therapy for children and teens.

Connect-to-talk is helping children with developmental delays catch up to their peers.

Basch and Williams-Arbello created Connect-to-talk after working in many previous jobs. Before starting their private practice, the two worked in schools and other practices. They wanted to cut out the bureaucratic meetings and switch to working with just the kids and their parents. Today, Connect-to-talk serves more than 200 kids.
