Educators at Parkrose High School constantly analyze data. Oregon’s Education Department holds a number of assessments, called the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. The math exam is more difficult than the science test because students must do more writing. The science test is multiple choices. Schools within the Beaverton district may not appear on the list.

We then took the schools that exceeded the 50 percent level (in terms of meeting state standards) in science and 45 percent on the more rigorous math test (on which schools averaged only about 33 percent in terms of meeting the standards) and included them in the attached slideshow.

School rankings are based on combined scores that shift to higher education.

Oregon City High School was accidentally left off the original list. Due to an input error, Clackamas High School received a higher ranking than it should have gotten. A ranking is based on the combined scores only among schools exceeding the 50 percent science and 45 percent math thresholds. The math figures tell which students are equipped to further their education and go to college.

Key Takeaways:

1
Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills is the latest assessment of science and math.
2
The ranking of schools is dependent on combined scores.
3
The math assessment is good indicator of which students are ready to continue their education.
